Overview
We were nominated by our client, Wenvoe Care Home Ltd, a specialist Care Home provider, as principal contractor, to undertake the construction of a new build 70 bed care home, with full staff quarters and associated facilities.
The site was on the former Glenburnie House, off Port Road, Wenvoe.
The building consists of 70 ensuite bedroom suites, with supplementary resident facilities, including a gym, bar, library, cinema, beauty salon, specialist bathing suites, multiple day lounges and dining rooms along with safe access extensive landscaped areas across the development.
The entire top floor is a dedicated 'back of house' staff quarters with a bespoke commercial kitchen, laundry room, changing and meeting areas. The building offers nurse station rooms and specialist sluice space rooms also.
The technology behind this development includes a specifically designed nurse call system to aid care, room specific built in sound and audio set ups, a fully addressable fire alarm system, electric heating, cctv, wi-fi, secure door access facility and air conditioning throughout.
All these facilities and installed technologies will enable the development to provide a high quality residential, nursing and dementia care offering to the community.
